How to change a tire

Here are a set of instructions on how to change a tire on a car or truck.

1. With the wheel on the ground start by unscrewing the lug nuts 1/2 turn. 2. Find the jack up point closest to the tire that is going to be changed. (refer to how to jack up a car) 3. Jack up the vehicle high enough so the flat tire is off the ground. (it may be necessary to apply pressure to the bottom of the tire to keep it straight. It will be easier to remove the lug nuts if the tire remains straight.) 4. Unscrew the lug nuts. 5. Remove and replace flat tire. 6. Screw in the lug nuts as far as they will go without spinning the tire. 7. Lower vehicle and remove the jack. 8. Use the following image to properly tighten down the lug nuts. Failure to tighten down lug nuts in the correct order will result in damage to wheel and brake system.
